CHAIR’S REPORT 2008 - 2009
I am pleased to introduce the NDVA Annual Report for 2008/09. The report highlights the main areas of work which have been undertaken by NDVA during the year. We continue to support organisations working in the health related voluntary sector in North Derbyshire.
Derbyshire LINk, the project we manage in partnership with Amber Valley CVS, is progressing well and is highly respected. It is generally recognised as being within the top 10% of LINk projects in the Country.
The year saw the departure of Zan Hurst. We wish her well in her retirement and thank Zan for her commitment and hard work in developing NDVA over the years. At the same time we welcomed David Timcke to the post of Chief Officer. David has come from Age Concern Nottingham and Nottinghamshire and we are pleased to have his skills and expertise. The Committee look forward to working with him in the future to develop NDVA further. Debbie Race is continuing to work for NDVA one day weekly taking lead responsibility for Derbyshire LINk and the Healthier Structures project. As in the previous year, our activities in 2008/09 demanded a great deal of commitment and hard work from our small staff team. On behalf of the Committee I would like to thank every member of the Team for their continuing efforts and commitment to the development of NDVA.
The Annual Review also provides an opportunity for me to say thank you once again to so many people. The Health & Social Care Voluntary Sector Forum continues to be a highly regarded and well attended meeting and I would like to thank all the organisations who attend for making it such a valuable event. I would also like to say thank you to my fellow Committee Members for their support in the management of NDVA.
