NDVA Directory
Who is this Directory for?
The Directory is for members of the public and health professionals. It provides information about the activities of over 199 health related voluntary organisations working in Derbyshire offering a broad range of help and support. It includes social clubs, self-help and support groups.To define a ‘voluntary group’ we have used the following working definition: ‘ a set of people with a common purpose, which is not for profit, and which has the power and a method of making decisions about activities and the finance/resources of the group’.
A minority of the groups listed have paid workers, many do not. We would ask people to remember that much of the work of groups, if not all, takes place because of the commitment of people who are not paid for the work they do, either as management committee members or volunteers furthering the work of the organisation.
It is hoped that the Directory will also be used by agencies providing information, offering a tool to help them update their own information. However, whilst NDVA is happy for individual organisations to update their own information, please be aware that, due to data protection legislation, the information contained in this Directory may not be reproduced in any format or media without the express written permission of NDVA.
Updating the Directory
Despite our efforts to provide comprehensive information, there will be groups that we have not included in the Directory. If you are aware of one of these organisations please send us the name of the organisation and a contact address. With their permission we will ensure that they are included next time.If your group is a health related voluntary group working in Derbyshire and is not on the website please contact NDVA and we would be pleased to include your details.
