MENTAL HEALTH LIAISON SERVICE

Who are we?

Roger Kerry (Mental Health Liaison Worker) and Bryony White (Administrative Assistant)

Who employs us?

The project is funded by Derbyshire NHS Clusters, and covers the whole of North Derbyshire.

What is our role?

The role of the Service is:

to develop a platform for voluntary agencies delivering mental health services to come together to discuss matters of common interest and influence strategic planning in mental health;

  • to represent voluntary sector mental health providers on the Derbyshire Mental Health Strategic Commissioning Group and other key planning groups;

  • to ensure voluntary sector representation on other joint agency planning groups and review bodies;

  • to train and support other voluntary sector representatives.

Voluntary Sector Mental Health Network (VSMHN)

VSMHN is a sub-group of NDVA and holds bi-monthly meetings and runs an electronic information exchange. It is open to any organisations delivering mental health services as part or all of their work. VSMHN is the mechanism whereby views are gathered to inform representation at a strategic level and to feedback.

What do we hope to achieve in the future?

Our aim is to build on the valuable work currently done by voluntary sector groups in our area and to ensure proper representation in the future planning of services in Derbyshire.

We have formed excellent working relationships with Derbyshire County Council and the Clinical Commissioning Groups.
