Men Going Forward is a non-clinical approach to help build confidence and resilience for men aged between 40 and 60 years old, who have mild to moderate mental health issues, and are recognised as having the potential to benefit from short term practical support to help reduce loneliness and hopelessness.

If you are a man aged 40 to 60 in North Derbyshire, and you join Men Going Forward you will receive up to six one-to-one sessions with one of our advisors. These sessions can be at your home or in your local community.

During your sessions, you and your  advisor will explore your interests and talk about ways that you can overcome your current difficulties in a way that will suit you. The advisor will help you to overcome some of the many challenges often faced by men in your age range. They will support you to  become involved with activities and groups that will help you to overcome any feelings of isolation and hopelessness you may be experiencing.

You decide what you need so that you can embrace life, believe in a better future and learn to live in a healthier, happier way, and your advisor will help you get there.

If you think you, or someone you know, would benefit from Men Going Forward, please call the Derbyshire Federation for Mental Health on 01629 733915 and ask for the Men Going Forward Team.
